Part 1 of "Minority Report"

After reading the first part of "Minority Report" I definitely believe a movie could be created from the short story. The futuristic setting combined with the new "precog" system there is a great amount of background information which can be added to extend the length. Thus far, the characters themselves have not been deeply delved into so that is another possibility in adding length and substance to the movie version. By creating deeper round characters the effects of the climax will more greatly impact the audience and provide for a more entertaining experience.

When thinking about the six elements much can be created for the movie. The title should remain "Minority Report" because it is an interesting name which grabs the attention of the audience. The definition of a minority report is unknown. Again, both the characters and the setting can be delved into deeper. The author has yet to give a date to the story and has not described the abilities of this society. A very intriguing society where humans have discovered how to live on other planets and have flying cars readily available. The character traits of the main characters should be enhanced through "show and tell" in their daily lives. This creates round characters and draws more emotion from the audience because the characters are more identifiable. The climax has yet to be reached, but with many forms of conflict between different societies, men, and even between Anderton and his wife there is a great story line. The entire event represents irony, as the Precog Police Chief is accused of murder. Finally, symbolism can certainly be added. I myself have not really detected a great amount thus far.

Minority Report appears to have all the makings of a great movie.
